Treasury Challenge!

HHU Team and Friends of HHU Team regularly hold weekly Treasury Challenges featuring Members' and others' items from their etsy shops.

A recent challenge was " Here comes the school bus". My guess is many mothers will be looking forward to seeing the yellow bus after the long summer vacation!

April of MooreMagnets created a fantastic treasury "School Bus Stop!" which we wanted to share with you Please take a good look, it is featured below.

Treasury Challenge

Friends of HHU and HHU Teams regularly hold Treasury challenges in which team members' and others' items are showcased in treasuries on etsy.

Judy from ConfectionsinGlass entered a stunning treasury  " Amber Treasures" which we would like to share with you. Please take a good look at her treasury below.

Judy's shop ConfectionsinGlass features elegent candleholders, centre pieces, dessert pedestals. Many of her pieces are one of a kind, inspired by nature and the sea.  They make unique gifts, are ideal for weddings, showers, dinner parties and business events. She hand assembles her pieces from new and recycled glass,beads, jewels and ribbons with the magic ingredient of her vison and talent to form beautiful treasured "confections" for every occassion.

It's difficult to choose a favorite, but I love the pedestal plates as well. When I have a party I like to display the dishes at different levels. This leaf plate is perfect for a fall get together.

Garden Harvest Recipes, part 2

Have you tried last week's roasted radishes yet?  Nancy of NancyEllenStudios and DesignsStainedGlass has passed along another yummy recipe to use that produce fresh from your garden!

I love this time of year when I can go into my gardens, pick some fresh herbs and fresh veggies and make a light side salad like this one:

SHAVED CUCUMBER SALAD

 3 English cucumbers
2 stalks celery
1/2 medium white onion
1/4 c. mayonnaise
1/2 c. fresh cilantro
2/1/2 tsp. champagne vinegar
salt and pepper to taste


With a vegetable peeler, shave cucumbers into wide ribbons, stopping when you reach seed; reserve 1 center. Thinly slice celery and onion: place in a large bowl along with cucumber ribbons. In a blender, puree reserved cucumber center, mayonnaise, cilantro, and champagne vinegar, season with salt and pepper and add to bowl. Toss to combine and refrigerate for an hour or so.
