Team Spotlight! Confections in Glass!

Very excited to introduce you to Judy of Confections in Glass and Enchanted Starfish! She makes beautiful one of a kind upcycled glass pieces and bejeweled starfish. Check out this gorgeous dessert pedestal!

1. Your name, nickname and a little about who you are

My name is Judy and my Etsy shop is Confections In Glass. I am a daughter, sister, wife, mother and Nana! I live the life I love and I love the life I live.

2. Surprise us with something about you that you think will shock us!

Probably that I've done so many different things in my life, from being Editor of a magazine in St. Louis, Assistant Manager in a Women's Clothing Store, marketing at the Alumni Association at Auburn University, Assistant to the Director of a United Way agency for 9 years, receptionist at a Veterinary Clinic for 2 years, and even worked as a bartender in a Restaurant/Bar. I can still make the best frozen margaritas around from scratch. :)

3. What is your main craft/art/collectible?

I upcycle and hand assemble different pieces of glass and crystal, using both "previously loved" and new, into candle holders, centerpieces, and gifts.

4. How did you start with Etsy?

A friend told me about Etsy last year and I decided to give it a try. I joined Etsy in May, but didn't list anything in my shop until October.

5. Any secrets to share for success? or What tool do you use to track your success?

Since I am relatively new, I really don't have any secrets to success yet. I am active in the forums on Etsy, a proud member of the HHU Team, have an active Facebook Fan Page and am getting ready to start a blog. I am constantly reading and asking questions, and trying to learn everything I can to make my business a success. I have products in a brick and mortar store here in my area, as well.

6. Hobbies or pastime when you are not doing Etsy.

Since we moved to the beach a year and a half ago, I like to spend time walking on the beach, watching sunsets over the ocean, and boating with friends. Of course, I am constantly looking for glass and crystal pieces that I can use to create things for my business.

7. Where would your dream vacation be? and why

I have always loved the Bahamas and love Cruising. It's just the laid back, tropical atmosphere that attracts me. For some reason, in the Bahamas, I always feel as if I can just reach my hand up and touch the stars. They look so close and I am in awe!

8. What do you hope to contribute and gain from Hearts and Hands United?

I love being a part of this team! I definitely have gained friendship, wisdom, support and laughter from my friends here, and I want to contribute to other's in the same way. I love the way we all support each other both here and to our extended friends on our Etsy thread.

9. Where can we find you?

Your shop address:

Facebook address

10. Where do you draw your inspiration from? Your strength?

I have always drawn my strength from my family. We are very close and I am so blessed to still have my Mom and Dad, who are my rocks and the anchors in this family.

11. Free writing anything you want to say

We don't stop playing because we grow old; We grow old because we stop playing.
