Team project No. 1 - Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, pt. 3
It's Friday again and this means that I'm showing you three new items in the wedding theme Team Project from the members of the Hearts and Hands United Team. Today's artists are Designs in Stained Glass, FabricGreetings and NancysBagsEtc.
The sun is coming back to dark Sweden where I am sitting writing this blog post and sun light is a crucial element speaking of the first item of the three.
From Designs in Stained Glass comes this suncatcher.
The heart is made from a textured swirl clear glass with wire overlay. Blue swirl glass has been used for accent borders.
From FabricGreetings comes these two fabric postcards.
The old is the lace, the new is the sparkly trim, borrowed are the blue buttons (they won't be given back) and blue is the background fabric.
From NancysBagsEtc comes this lovely bridal purse. The description tells us that the heart shaped button represents something old, coming from the artist's husband's grandmother. It also tells us that the purse is Nancy's newest creation, just in time for the spring wedding season and perhaps someday, another bride would like to borrow this purse from you - on her special day.
For that something blue a satin ribbon has been added on the inside pocket.

Team project No. 1 - Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, pt. 2
The finished team projects of the Hearts and Hands United Team keeps coming in.
This Friday's contributors are RitzeeRebel, Earjeans and WomanWithTools who are bringing you beautiful adornments for yourself or someone you hold dear on the theme "Something old, something new, Something borrowed, something blue".
Here's a really cute blue felted hair clip from RitzeeRebel. These hairclips are sold in a set of two: blue and white.
From Earjeans comes these rocking earrings. They're made of corduroy fabric with a paisley print and little turquoise glass beads.
From WomanWithTools comes this elegant bridal set of necklace, bracelet and earrings.
The necklace has a hand hammered silver pendant strung from a cascade of clear vintage glass and new Czech glass beads and a couple of blue glass beads.
Next Friday I'll present to you three new projects.

Tuesdays Tools Etsy Shop Tools
It is Tuesday again and time for more tools for you to use in your Etsy shop. Since all of us are going through the Google changes let's stay with help for that. There are so many sites out there to help us. We will share some links today also.
What do we all want? Sales of course BUT in order to have sales we need TRAFFIC in order to get TRAFFIC we need to have our Etsy Shops ready. We want all shoppers to flock to our Etsy Shop.
Here is a terrfic blog by Timothy Adams, he has loads and loads of Etsy help. Look at the "3 fixes for low traffic." Remember to grab some coffee first then enjoy and discover.
Next is a tool to help you with your tagging. It can be a most grueling task to get the right keywords. This link will help you and it is am amazing tool. It is called "HMC Keyword Tool."
If your computer is still in tack and you have done some changes to your titles, tags and all of your keywords now see your results.
"Statsy" has been around but the wonderful locator feature is awesome.
It is pretty simple to use and saves you time searching through all of the pages to find where your item is ranked. Enter your username and then click on the LOCATOR tab at the top and see how your work has paid off.

Team project No. 1 - Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue
On the Hearts and Hands United Team we've got a special team project every two months.
The project we're all working on at the moment has been put together by Earjeans with the following instructions:
"Since this is wedding season, I thought we could create something (within our respective crafts) using the theme 'Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.'
At least two of the four categories has to be represented in your work (old, new, borrowed, blue)."
This Friday and the Friday's to come we aim to present the results of these projects. First out today are projects by Lafe's Hidden Treasures, Terrills Tiles and ShoshiPo.
The first project is a Wine Bottle Light from Lafe's Hidden Treasures.
The bottle is a cobalt blue, the top is wrapped with new silver and copper wire that the old crystals hang from. The bottle is filled with borrowed lights to give a cozy shine (The lights have been donated to the cause now, right?).
The second project is a set of bridal gift tile coasters from Terrills Tiles.
Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue. This covers all of the traditional bridal gifts in one coaster set.
The third and last project of this Friday comes from ShoshiPo.
This is a pair of handcrafted earrings with sterling silver chains, silver star beads, swarowski blue zircone and swarowski crystal stones. New and blue.

Tuesday's Tools
Lately we have all been in a flurry to get our shops ready for the Big Changeover. Where do I start?
Let’s cover “descriptions, titles and tagging.”
It is a continuous circle round and round we go. Tagging makes us seen, Titles make us seen, descriptions make us seen.
You have something to list and you are so excited. First off a Title. I know we all like catchy phrases but is Jane Doe going to search for “Cute Spring OOAK Orchid Plush Bunny?” Probably not, at least not in that much detail. What your item is should be at the forefront. Let’s use April’s title from Moore Magnets.

It says it all in the Title, what it is, how big it is and what she used to make it. No questions to the searcher as to what she is selling. Nothing fancy just feature your product. It’s that simple.
Now her description:

It is definitely clear that she is selling Magnet Boards and here she sheds a little more detail in the first line. A searcher can look at the Title and first line and know what they are looking at. No confusion.
The rest of the description is precise and to the point all about the product, Magnet Board. She also puts in the description why someone would want to buy her product compared to others. She is selling her product, Magnet Boards.
These boards are perfect for bedrooms, kitchens, offices, craft rooms, and anywhere else you need to keep up with messages, notes, phone numbers, appointments, etc. Unlike magnetic boards you can purchase at an office supply store, my boards offer many different color and/or fabric choices to suit your taste.
Add some of my magnetic tins and make it a jewelry holder, spice rack, bead organizer, or something else handy!
This board measures approximately 16 inches by 16 inches and has 2 picture hangers attached to the back for mounting. The picture hangers are the triangle style so nails or screws will be needed for hanging. Please note that no nails or screws will be included with your purchase. The entire surface of the board has sheet of metal and holds magnets just like your refrigerator!

Now for the dreaded tagging. Always, always, always use all 14 spots. Your first decision is what category you should select. Now the work begins. Once that has been decided, next should be your product. Let’s say you are listing a teddy bear, the first spot should be teddy bear, (colors used), (what kind) and so forth. Mention colors, textures, style.
